The Best Seasoning For Bloody Mary

One of the most popular cocktails ever, a Bloody Mary, contains vodka and tomato juice as basic components. Many other spices and flavorings are often added, for example Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, Tabasco, olives, salt, lemon juice and celery stalk. Different bartenders make their own mixtures using all kinds of seasoning for Bloody Mary, creating their own recipes.

Usually, six parts of tomato juice, one part of lemon juice and three parts of good vodka are used for prepare the basis. Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, salt and ice cubes should be placed in one high glass, and then you have to pour your mixture over that, and stir it gently. Garnish it with celery stalk and lemon wedge, if you want, and that's it.

Although it contains alcohol, Bloody Mary is still reputed to cure the hangover. That's why it is often served with brunch. The real origin of this cocktail is unknown, but some say that it was originally made using half tomato juice and half vodka only. Even so, today it is popular to add different spices and other ingredients to this popular drink, to create new and interesting flavors.

You will also find that in some areas it is quite normal to add a little bit of beef consomme in there, but it isn't widely popular as some other additions. For example, some people prefer adding cayenne pepper instead of black one. Olives and salt are often added, as well as celery salt and piri piri sauce. Most people still prefer restaurant style Bloody Mary.

For preparing one perfect Bloody Mary at home you will have to have all fresh and good quality ingredients. The problem is only to use the right amount of each of these components. It is funny to experiment, but if you want to make things easier and to make sure your cocktail will be absolutely perfect, you can buy one of prefabricated mixtures. This way you just cannot do anything wrong. Aromatic salts are also available.

So, if you prefer authentic restaurant style, use so called classic mixture. You just have to mix tomato juice, vodka and prescribed amount of seasoning in a glass, garnish it with celery stalk, and your job is done. In this specific mixture you will find Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, red pepper, black pepper, salt, garlic and horseradish. Of course, you can find different mixtures, for example with more intensive taste.

Rimming salts are made with red and black pepper, alder smoked sea salt, celery salt and some other components. Some mixtures contain hickory-smoked, vegetarian friendly bacon salt. These special mixtures will add something unusual and particularly tasty to your drinks, but you can also improve the taste of your food if you sprinkle some on it.

Different seasoning mixtures are all well balanced, made using high quality, natural ingredients and extremely simple to use. Once opened, the package should be kept in a fridge. If you buy your mixture in a bag, just pour it in some bottle and close it carefully. It will stay fresh for a long time. When you find your favorite taste, buy a larger package. Make sure to have enough tomato juice, ice cubes and vodka, and you will be prepared for a party.
