Olive Oil & Where Mcdonalds Comes In

McDonalds is arguably the most popular fast food establishment in the world. It seems like many people turn to this restaurant as their go-to source for food when they do not feel like cooking. Even though many people may look at this establishment as a negative, in terms of health, it seems like olive oil has become a recent addition to the arsenal. If you do not believe me, there may be a particular menu option that is deserving of your attention.

As an article on the Olive Oil Times detailed, McDonald's new artisan grilled chicken sandwich is one to recognize. One of the reasons for this is that, according to McDonald's themselves, this particular sandwich is cooked with a mixture of canola and olive oil. In addition, food lovers should know that this utilizes only 12 ingredients, down from the 18 that is usually associated with McDonald's sandwiches. These are just a few factors that should draw the attention of culinary enthusiasts across the board.

McDonald's detailed that the artisan grilled chicken sandwich was created due to high consumer demands. Frequent McDonald's customers wanted simpler ingredients in their food, which isn't easy to do when preexisting formulas are difficult to change around. When this level of difficulty is seen, it goes without saying that different strategies will be required. For this reason, the implementation of the aforementioned sandwich makes more sense.

What about the heavier emphasis that people have placed on healthier food options? After all, there are quite a few companies which specialize in these products, Panera Bread and even Starbucks being some of the most common examples. They have become increasingly sensitive to the positive upswing of health, as it relates to the food that people eat. As a result, it wouldn't be unwise to consider that McDonald's has lost a chunk of its consumer base to those companies.

One has to wonder if this menu change will lead to positive business for McDonald's. I have a hard time believing that it will because, for so long, there has been this "unhealthy" label tied to the restaurant for so many years. With the aforementioned options mentioned earlier, McDonald's may have lost ground they'll find impossible to get back. Nonetheless, it seems like healthier changes are being made, as illustrated by the aforementioned sandwich.
