It is best known for its regional diversity and offers an abundance of taste and it is the most popular in the world.

This cuisine started after the Roman Empire fell and different cities started to differentiate and to come up with their own traditions. The first Italian restaurant to be established was located in Rome and Athens and it mostly served spinach, almond and rice. This cuisine has since developed over the years.

Within a certain time frame salt cod, spaghetti and casseroles among others had been introduced. Typical traditional Italian meal has 4 to 5 courses. Most of the fish served back then was mainly smoked because refrigeration as a preservative technique was not known. Most of these establishments are meant for families. Italians view meal time as a chance to bond with family besides nourishment. This points to the fact that they are joyous people bent on upholding family spirit.

In the current world, Italy-originating cuisines are considered the most exotic types of cuisines. This type of cuisine is reserved for special occasions like weddings among others. A menu in typical Italy-originating restaurant comprises of the first and second course which is followed by coffee and a side dish. A sustainable dish such as pasta is always included in the first course.

A blend of coffee beans roasted to medium or medium dark in the north and as one moves south it gets darker is used to make Italian style coffee. Also, they serve locally produced wine. Italy is the largest producer of wine in the entire world. It is also the biggest exporter of wine besides being also the major wine consumer. Italians have a great taste of wine and foods.
