The term ahi is the one that is used most commonly in the Hawaiin culture to refer to both the bigeye tuna as well as the yellowfin tuna, which are two of their big fishing focuses whenever people are looking for aquatic life out on the ocean. A lot of people have seen the majestic swordfish depicted in movies and cartoons but may not have ever seen one in real life let alone eaten one. It is worth a try because a lot of people go crazy for it. The Hawaiin swordfish is known to be quite large in general, so you can feed a lot of people with just one of these things.

One of the best tasting marlins to eat that can be caught around the Hawaiin Islands is known as the nairagi. This is the native word for striped, and the creature gets its name from the virbrant patterns of beautiful colors on its body. This species is generally not very large.

The blue marlin's traditional name is kajiki. It gets its name from the beautiful blue hue of its scales. Known for being similar in taste to the other marlins that are caught around here, it still tastes just a bit different.

A lot of people prefer the shortbill spearfish over all the other sea food that is out there. Hebi is another name for this interesting species, and they are known to be comparable in taste to many of the other billfishes, which are distantly related. These creatures are much smaller than most of the other ones and have a tendency to hang out in the shallow water.
