Organic Beef And Pork Makes Meals More Balanced

By Anna Patterson

Anyone who has taken meal advice from someone claiming to be an expert will find themselves with information that may be contradictory. This is not to say that scientific findings are incorrect but the question is how closely should one follow since a balanced diet is best for most. It is not only nutritionally sound but when portioned correctly a person will have energy. Protein is a good source of energy and can be found in many organic beef and pork products that have not been processed or is without added growth hormones.

Those who do not understand the difference may want to compare the nutritional value. Anyone can see that the organic product has a lot more and tends to be more flavorful. The texture is sometimes denser but this can be good for those looking to control their meal portion sizes.

Another way to ensure that a person is getting enough of the right foods is to look up the serving sizes and measure the nutritional information. If the goal is to lose weight, then add the average caloric intake and use this as a guide when figuring out how to lose the excess. Some fitness trackers can give an estimate of how much is being burned on an average day.

Anyone looking to cut calories should also take a look at how the meat is being prepared. It is common to use seasoning blends that save time but sometimes these can be high in sodium. For anyone with a sense of adventure, an alternative solution would be to mix a blend of crushed, freshly dried herbs and add a little garlic salt.

For those who frequently cook food using high heat, most natural meats are lean without injections that encourage a juicy texture. Instead of cooking with high heat on a stovetop, it may be best to try a medium, or medium high, heat to prevent the meat from becoming dry. The advantage is that food will cook evenly without burning or getting scorched.

The same applies to grilling or smoking meat. One idea would be to boil the meat until cooked before placing on an outdoor grill. This ensures that no salmonella will be transmitted by undercooking but a slight, smoky taste should result. There are also books and online tutorials that demonstrate ideas for cooking organic meats outdoors.

For those who cannot live without gravy, it may help to make one at home from scratch. There are many recipes that are low in sodium and sugar or allow for the use of fresh vegetables. The latter not only helps with fiber intake but can help in losing excess pounds. Some vegetables that can be pureed into a creamy consistency include sweet potatoes, peas, and most cruciferous vegetables.

While most natural or organic meat sold is fairly lean, it helps to take an extra step to trim any visible fat that may remain alongside. Sometimes, people like to keep it so that it will prevent meat from drying during cooking. However, it helps to remember alternatives like virgin olive oil or another type that can withstand high heat.
