Herbs And Spices Which Are Found On Australian Food

When you go for something to bite, you do not usually think of Australian food especially if you are not an Australian. But, that right there causes you to miss something uniquely delicious and satisfying. One of the most underrated dish there is are those of Australian people. They basically tailored their traditional australian food recipes on certain complementary spices which can make it extra special.

Probably you are wondering what those herbs they have are that makes the dish they serve extra special and savory. Some of these spices has been long there and it has been part of their tradition to use it. In fact, there are several of them which only are found in the country and is totally unique.

Another great thing about the spices they usually use is that it has several health benefits. So adding them in every day dishes is not harmful at all rather it will help in improving certain conditions. Well, that is surely worth knowing so that you can have your own recipe comprised with their amazing herbs and spices.

First, they tend to add lemon myrtle on their sauce, marinades and sorbets. There also are instances where they get to add some of this on their cakes. That is how versatile this lemons are with its lemon lime flavor. It can be added on a dish in every different form possible, it can be dried, ground or fresh depending on your preference.

Next, if you want to know what they normally use as spicy herb and flavor, its the mountain pepper which are mostly found in Tasmania. They can grow up to a good five meters tall and their spicy and hot flavor is nothing extreme and anything you have tasted. Its merely because of the presence of compound polygodial.

Then there is wattle seed which has over seven hundred kind of specie all found in Australia. There only are few of them which actually is edible. They are used as staple in sources of food by the Aboriginal people. But nowadays, they have been used as ground and roasted spices for some foods.

Way back there was this ornamental plant which they think is of no use. It has this pretty mauve like flower which is edible. But mostly, it is the leaves which they are using as mint flavoring on some of their well known foods. This thing is named native mints and they are using it now way more often.

Bush tomato are somehow a relative of potatoes but not quite. These plants are perennial in nature. Their fruits are being dries on the bushes before they will be picked. This is used as spice as it really gives a unique flavor to almost every single Australian dish that ever made and invented.

Then there is the bush cherries which are usually considered as fruit and it has this pink color that is totally refreshing and its texture is really versatile. They can be eaten fresh or if you want, you may be able to serve them along with the fruit salad. They make the dessert quite extra special than it has always been which is why they have been used that often.
